Coursework - An Introduction


Coursework now accounts for 30% of your Film Studies A level qualification and it is essential that you work towards top marks here, as this will take a little pressure off your exams at the end of Year 13.

You will work on your coursework during Year 12, completing it by the end of the academic year. This will enable you to focus solely on exam preparation in Year 13, with your coursework marks already banked.

You have two options for your coursework BUT regardless of which you choose, both require a sound appreciation of short films. During Year 12 you will study a number of short films, looking at narrative structure, the conventions of short films as a medium, the ways characters are developed and aspects of film form
